Mourinho Admitted that Manchester United Might Buy a New Player Next Month
United’s manager Jose Mourinho officially admitted that the club might make at least one new signing during the transfer window in January. However, he also made it clear that there certainly will not be an outbreak of activity regarding exits and incomings. There are some speculations that they might sign Victor Lindelof, who currently plays for Benfica. Unfortunately for the United fans, they started the Premier League in the worst way in their history, under the former Chelsea manager’s campaign and they are only 13 points of their lead in the 6th place. The Red Devils have been linked with several players this week, but Mourinho stated that he prefers to make changes in the squad in the Summer, instead of in the middle of the season. He also admitted that he does not want to remove any of his players now, but also stated that the club would not prevent any athlete that wants to leave from doing so. Jose Mourinho shared with Sky Sports that in Portugal, the main pages state that every Portuguese athlete will be coming to United. He added that it is normal since a few seasons ago a player with such heritage was said to go to Real Madrid and Chelsea, it is normal with the connection. However, he keeps saying that he likes his players. Moreover, he believes more in the summer window, rather than the winter market. According to Mourinho, he will have both more time and more choice to make the proper decision. He added: “But let’s see what happens.” Mourinho continued saying that if they decide to buy a player, they will not purchase three or more. He concluded saying that if someone leaves the club, it is because he wants to do so, not because he or she push him.
