The club is considering to sign Everton’s duo of Ross Barkley and Romelu Lukaku in the summer for in £100m. The striker has two more years of his contract and is against signing a new deal. On the other hand, the midfielder will have only one year left after the season ends. The Telegraph claimed that the west London club is closely monitoring the situation of the two athletes at Everton.
Chelsea permitted Lukaku to move to the Merseyside club back in 2013, and one year later his move was made permanent. Everton signed the player for £28m and want to release him for £65m.
On the other hand, they want only £30m for Barkley, in spite of the fact that he still has over a year left on his contract. If Chelsea decides to sign both of them, it might cost them approximately £100m in the transfer window in the summer.
Everton wants to include a clause with a buy-out option for £90m in his new contract, but Lukaku turned it down. He failed to impress at Chelsea, and he was loaned to West Bromwich Albion as well as Everton in his final two seasons.
The Telegraph claimed that the sources who are close to Lukaku state that the attacker wants to make a return to Stamford Bridge, so Chelsea is his main destination. Barkley has created a good understanding with Lukaku they could make a great duo in Chelsea.
