After Ibrahimovic’s EFL Cup Triumph, Mourinho Discusses His Future With The Club

What did Mourinho say about Ibrahimovich's future with Man UTD?

Manchester United’s manager, Jose Mourinho hopes that Zlatan Ibrahimovich will decide to stay with the club for one more year. This is because the 35-year-old striker managed to score 2 goals and help his team win a 3-2 game versus Southampton in the EFL Finals.

The Swedish athlete signed a one-year deal with Manchester United, after his move from PSG in the summer. However, the manager hopes to extend that contract with another 12 months after the veteran player won the game by scoring a couple of goals one of which was the winner in the 87th minute.

Mourinho stated that Ibrahimovic won the game for the team as he was outstanding. Paul Pogba was at a close level but Zlatan was completely phenomenal in a match where the opponent was better than United for most parts of the game. He stated that Southampton deserved to go to extra time, and they certainly did not deserve to lose. However, Ibrahimovic made the difference and won the cup for Manchester United.

Mourinho stated that he will never beg a player to sign a contract. Moreover, he will never beg for a player to play for him. At one point Zlatan decided to transfer to Barca from Inter. The manager was really sad, but he did nothing to stop him from leaving. He does not beg for athletes but if needed, he believes that United’s fans will go to the door of his house and stay there as much as needed. The entire team and the fans hope and want that he will stay with them for one more season.
